Versailles Video

Apr 29/08 - The Versailles, the ultra big palace to match the big ego of the sun king, Louis XIV.
Took the metro and walk a little distance to the palace. Very long queue, luckily we had the museum pass, so did not have to queue. It rained, so we spent time strolling through the massive chateau and admired the Hall of Mirrors, the most magnificent room.
When the rain stopped, we took in the gardens. Took the little choo-choo train to Marie Antoinette's hamlet, a collection of beautifully designed farm houses. The hamlet was the ultimate playground for a queen, built on the expense of the citizen that ultimately led to a revolt and the famous beheading. Each house is exquisite and of a different style. The animals in the farm must have a wonderful life - just eat, sleep and be pretty.
